Actor Michael Madsen has passed away. He was 67 years old.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office told the Hollywood Reporter that he responded to the actor’s Malibu home Thursday morning after receiving a 911 call. They discovered that the actor would not respond and declared he was dead at 8:25am.
“I understand that Michael has cardiac arrested,” his representative, Liz Rodriguez of EMR Media Entertainment, told the outlet.
Madsen’s sister, actress Virginia Madsen, took her to Instagram on behalf of the Madsen family to honor her brother.
“My brother Michael left the stage. He was thunder and velvet. A mischievous prank. A poet disguised as an outlaw,” she wrote. “Father, son, and brothers were filled with contradictory and softened by the love that left that mark.”
She says that while the Madsen family does not “laugh the public figures” or “laugh myths,” they “laughed the flesh, blood and the ferocious hearts, burning their lives loud, glorious, and half-burned.
The “Sideways” actress said she would not only joke with her brother, but also an internal joke with her along with “sudden laughter, his sound.”
“I miss the boy he was before the legend. I miss my brother.”
“Thank you for reaching out with love and memory,” she continued. “In time, we share plans that we intend to celebrate his life. But for now, we will remain nearby and make silence say something indescribable.”
Born in Chicago, Illinois, the actor is known for his roles in films such as “Reservoir Dog,” “Kill Bill,” “Donnie Blasco,” and “Hollywood in Time in Hollywood.” On IMDB, he has over 320 acting credits to his name.

“For the past two years, Michael Madsen has made incredible independent films including the upcoming feature film “Resurrection Road,” “Concessions for Southern Housewives, and cookbooks,” and I’ve been really looking forward to the next chapter in his life.”
“Michael was also preparing to release a new book called “Tears for the Father: The Ideas and Poetry of the Outlaw.” It is currently being edited,” the statement continued. “Michael Madsen is one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors and will be overlooked by many.”
From 1991 to 1995, Madsen married Gianni Bisignano. They welcomed their two sons, Christian and Max.
In 1996 he married Deanna Morgan and had three children together, Luke, Calvin and Hudson. In 2022, Hudson died of suicide.
