As Americans fire grills and prepare to gather for fireworks on Independence Day, many nationwide retailers and services observe holidays with modified times and closures.
Things that are closed
Federal Offices – All non-essential government buildings, including courts and administrative offices, will be closed. US Postal Service – No postal mail will be delivered and most postal branches will be closed. Banks – Major institutions such as Wells Fargo, Chase, Bank of America, and Citibank will be closed in compliance with federal public holidays. However, ATMs and online banking are still available. FedEx Cargo and Logistics – Closure. Some FedEx office locations may remain open with limited time. Costco – All US locations will be closed for the day. Most government-run services – local city offices, courts, and DMV locations are not operated.
What’s open?
Retail and Grocery Stores
Walmart – Open for normal hours. Target – We will be open for normal hours, but some locations may close a little earlier. Sam’s Club – Open for a limited time and closes by 6pm – Open for a limited time. Most stores will close at Whole Foods Market at 5pm. Holidays vary depending on the location, so we are open. Aldi – Open, but some stores may save time.
pharmacy
CVS – It’s open, but the pharmacy counter may be shorter. Walgreens – Open, may reduce pharmacy time.
Department stores and malls
Although open, most locations close early from 6pm to 7pm
Restaurants and coffee shops
Most locations will open, including McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and Starbucks. Times may vary depending on the location.
