AUSTIN (KXAN) – The city of Kerrville and Kerr County provided another update following the fatal flash flood that moved through the area on Friday.

As of 8:55am on Saturday, officials said 27 people were found dead. Of these, 18 were adults and 9 were children. Six adults remain unidentified, as well as one child.
Carville Mayor Joe Herring Jr. said the fund was established by the Texas Hill Country Community Foundation.
“It’s going to be a difficult day for people to know about today…it’s going to be a difficult day,” Haring said.

Carville City Manager Dalton Rice said the water began to recede on Saturday morning and now there were hundreds of state, federal and local resources supporting the community.
Officials say search and rescue operations will continue until all people are considered. The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office said more than 850 people have been evaluated and have not been injured so far.
On Friday evening, Gov. Abbott confirmed at least 24 people had died at a press conference. Prior to the announcement, acting Gov. Dan Patrick said that around 20 children were also not explained by the area camp.
U.S. Rep. Chip Roy said at a press conference on Saturday that the lives of people, including the camp director, were lost.
On Saturday morning, the Kerrville Police Department said rescuers were working all night long and would continue until everyone was found.
“Hundreds of first responders are here with statewide resources to help us,” KPD said. “Our ideas remain with those who are not explained and their loved ones. They are our focus and will remain the case.”
