More than 158 million voters voted in last year’s presidential election.
These figures have been conducting voter surveys for election management and federal elections for 20 years, according to a report issued to Congress by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC).

The committee touts “provides the most comprehensive source of state and local jurisdiction-level data on election management in the United States.”
According to the report, more than 85% of Americans of voting age registered as active voters last year.
What the latest Fox News Polls shows
And voter turnout was the second highest in the last five presidential elections, tracking only the 2020 elections.

Turnout for 64.7% of the US citizen-voting age population has declined by just 3% compared to four years ago.
Almost three-quarters of those who voted last year voted in person prior to Election Day, with 35.2% voted in person, and 37.4% on Election Day.
It’s not too early to look forward to the 2028 presidential election
According to the report, 30.3% were voted by mail. This is a drop from 43% of votes by mail in the 2020 election, a high-water mark for mail-in voting amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, the report said that the proportion of people who voted by mail in 2025 was “still larger than the percentage of voters who voted by mail in pre-pandemic elections.”
