Hollywood actor Michael Madsen has died of heart failure with decades of film career, including roles in “Reservoir Dog,” “Kill Bill,” and “Donnie Blasco,” his cardiologist told NBCLA.

Madsen was found unresponsive at his Malibu home on Thursday.

He was 67 years old.

His doctors said heart failure is listed as a cause of death, known as the cause of heart disease and alcoholism.

Deputies responded to a Los Angeles County home after making a 911 call early Thursday. Madsen was declared dead in his residence.

Coach Ron Smith said last week that Madsen died of cardiac arrest.

The gravel-voiced Madsen, known for portraying the mysterious tough man’s character, has accumulated a long list of film credits over his 40-year career. Madsen, a brother to actor Virginia Madsen, brought complex characters back to life with Kill Bill: Vol. 1, Reservoir Dogs, Thelma & Louise, and Donnie Brasco.

Madsen, who also published several volumes of poems, was born in Chicago, where he was part of the Steppenwald Theatre Company. His Hollywood career appeared in the 1983 sci-fi techno thriller Wargames.

Madsen, who plays the role of the cruel crime “Mr. Blonde,” was part of Quentin Tarantino’s directorial debut in 1992. The two frequently cooperate in Hollywood. “Kill Bill: Vol. 1,” “The Hateful Eight,” and “Oncowon a Time in Hollywood.”

Madsen’s “Dog in the Reservoir” performance included an infamous and memorable scene in which Victor “Vic” Vega, aka Victor “Vic” Vega, tortured a guarded man as he danced to the song “Stuck with you.”

Hudson Madsen, one of his six children, died of suicide in 2022 at the age of 26. He was one of three sons Madsen, whom he shared with his wife, Deanna Madsen. He also had children from his previous marriage.
