Socialist New York City candidate Zohran Mamdani’s campaign did not respond when faced with the radical platforms and messages of a handful of promoted at the annual gathering of socialist activists and leaders in Chicago over the weekend of July 4th, Fox News Digital discovered.
“Socialism 2025” took place in Chicago from Thursday to Sunday, where activists were forced to overthrow the US government, promote high school students who “radiate” ways to defeat “DIY” abortions, and in addition to common rhetorical slamming capitalism, they had to wear N95s or K95s indoors.
Fox News Digital contacted Mamdani’s campaign Tuesday morning to ask whether the NYC Socialist Democrats agreed or opposed to the platforms and ideas promoted at the conference, and whether they would implement it if they elected the Big Apple’s next mayor but did not receive a response immediately.
Although Mamdani did not attend meetings in Chicago, he described himself as a democratic socialist and previously embraced radical left-wing policies, including ending private homeownership in favour of communal living.
The Socialist Conference included a panel ruled by university professors, community organizers, and activists.

“Socialism 2025 is a four-day conference bringing together thousands of socialists and radical activists from all over the country to participate in discussions about social movements, abolition, Marxism, decolonization, the history of the working class, and the debate and strategies to organize today.”
Fox News Digital provided Mamdani’s office with a list of six quotes and platform bullets promoted at the event, including one woman who identified herself as a Wisconsin high school teacher who seeks to “radiate” her Wisconsin high school teacher before enrolling in college.
“Everyone who’s become radical in college, imagine that they were radicalized four years ago,” the audience member heard the woman said during the meeting.

Another Chicago-based activist spoke on a panel calling for the US government to overthrow.
“I think it’s important to say that the state is not a democracy. We don’t live in a democracy. We should start saying it more. I mean, I have too many ways to do it – I’m not going to get into it – but people are applauding, so we agree.

“So we’ll capture the condition or try to replace it with something different?” he continued. “And I think it’s the latter. We have to replace it with something different.”
During another panel, “Gender, Sexuality, Breeding, State: Opposed to the so-called Law,” the women in the audience announced that the meeting would hold their own abortion panel to discuss how it was used and where to buy legal abortion pills.
Panel speakers from the same forum appeared to be seeking abolishment of their families.

“But… everyone reminds us in that tradition, so a big part of the abolition is building a real safety, real accountability, and the creation of a real justice infrastructure,” the activist said during the panel. “You know it’s the same as family. Capitalist care must be abolished in the sense that we are all pretty clear that care is a real need. What does family offer us? What are our promises?
“Does the family really do that?” she added that family ideas have flaws and can be replaced by “mutual assistance.”
Yet another activist declared on social media circulating the video clips, “Let’s dismantle the US,” saying, “Everyone should join her activism — “There are no questions asked.”
“I’m trying to dismantle the United States,” the activist said, “I hope we’re trying to dismantle the United States, and if it’s not your politics, I’ll talk like I have this commitment.
“Decolonization is the only thing that saves us as a species. That’s the only thing that saves us as a planet. And everyone should be on it.

Mamdani defeated NYC mayorate top competitor and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in a June poll. Mamdani’s victory is considered to move left after the 2024 elections where national voters alienated Americans who embraced left-wing policies.
President Donald Trump has accused Mamdani of “communist madman” and vowed to “save New York City.”

“As the US president, I have no intention of destroying New York,” Trump wrote about the true society at the beginning of July. “Don’t worry, I hold all the levers and have all the cards. I’ll save New York City and make it ‘hot’ and ‘great’ again, like I did in America! ”
