Zoran Mamdani, the Democratic mayor of New York City and self-proclaimed socialist candidate, has once again won backlash for his previous comments immersed in past socialism and communist ideologies.
This time, Mamdani has been blown up after calling on the government to “seize” luxury condominiums to accommodate the homeless during the coronavirus pandemic.
The unearthed remarks, derived from a social media post in March 2020, followed news of separate rediscovered remarks from Mamdami, promoting the need to “comomie” the need to replace the luxury condominium with shared laundry facilities and co-style lifestyles such as food adoption.
“Olgarhis hoping to return to work in the stock market is something that has investment property and thousands of gorgeous condominiums, the same as sitting in the sky while dying on the streets and in shelters,” Mamdani wrote on social media in response to a news report claiming New York City’s first homeless person along with Corona Viros.

Mamdani’s comments on housing were similarly scrutinized after his video, published online by a nonprofit advocacy group, showed that NYC mayoral candidates discussed the need to convert housing from private to public goods. “Get these properties,” Mamdani demanded in his post, written during a New York State Legislature campaign. “We will house the homeless. Please establish #homesguarantee.”

Partly, during the video, Mamdani asked for “to establish a community land trust to gradually buy homes in the private market and convert it into community ownership. In simpler terms, Mamdami explained that his housing ideas essentially aim to replace luxury condominiums with communal style living like shared laundry, kitchens, food cooperatives, baths, medications, auditoriums, swimming pools, and more.
“If you want to end the housing crisis, the solution needs to move towards a complete violation of the housing,” says Mamdani. “In other words, we move from the current situation where most people access homes by purchasing from the market and towards a future where we assure high quality housing for everyone as a human right.”
Conspiracy to Stop the Mamdani: Democrats scramble to block the far left acquisition in New York
New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani will face Rev. Al Sharpton, founder and president of the National Action Network, at a campaign event held in the Harlem Judicial Justice House in New York, USA on Saturday, June 28th, 2025.
Other comments rooted in Mamdani’s radical socialism and communist ideology have also emerged in recent weeks.
Critics also pointed to comments that Mamdani made at the 2021 Young Democrat Socialist Conference. Meanwhile, then council members told attendees not to compromise on goals such as “grabing the means of production.”
Meanwhile, current mayor of New York, Eric Adams ran as Mandami, who denounced independent Mandami this week for explicitly citing innovative Communist Party thinker Karl Marx.

The posts shared by Adams did not contain the following simple messages shared by Mamdani:
To less-political social media users, the message may seem harmless, but it is actually a direct quote from Karl Marx, a revolutionary socialist who wrote the infamous “communist manifesto” in the late 19th century and the socialist political philosopher Friedrich Engels.
President Donald Trump called Mamdani “a 100% communist madman,” vowed to “save New York City” if Mamdani is elected, and suggested his willingness to withhold federal funds from the city if Mamdani “doesn’t behave.”
However, Mamdani claimed he was a “communist.” In response to Trump’s criticism of being a “communist,” Mamdani directly rebutted his claim in an interview with NBC News.

“No, I’m not,” Mamdani replied when NBC’s Kristen Welker asked for a point blank. “I had already had to get used to the fact that the President wanted to distract me from what I was fighting for, about how I looked, how I sound, where I came from, who I ultimately were.
“When we talk about my politics, I call myself a democratic socialist. In many ways, I was inspired by the words of the doctor. [Martin Luther] A few decades ago, the king said, “We must call it democracy, it is democratic socialism, and there must be a better distribution of wealth for all God’s children in this country.”
Fox News Digital contacted Mamdami and his campaign for comments on this article, but no response was received.
