The San Fernando Valley music shop that appears in Wayne’s World will be screening the film in its final farewell decades later in business.
Cassell’s music announced earlier this year that it would close in nearly 78 years. For about four days of that almost 80 years, Cassel provided a film location inspired by Saturday night live sketches.

Kassel was the substitute for Wayne and Garth’s favourite music store in his hometown of Aurora, Illinois. Painted by actor Mike Myers, Wayne admires vintage stratocaster Excalibur and Garth, played by Dana Carvey, and confronts an epic drum solo.
Ed Intagliata, 71, became the owner of the store about 50 years ago after graduating from Cal State Fullerton with a music degree. Intagliata’s father bought the store in 1978 from founder Albert Cassell.
Intagliata recently announced his retirement.
He spoke with the Los Angeles Times about the store and filming “The World of Wayne.”
“They had a place where the scouts came in one day, but he was asking, “Hey, I’m looking for a music store to shoot a film for the ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketch.” “He came back again and said they liked my shop. Apparently he liked seven or eight states looking for a music store that suited what they were looking for.”
