The US lawyers’ office moved to dismiss the charges against Studio City YouTubers after a viral stunt video showing a Lamborghini being shot from a helicopter.
Suk Min Choi, who went on social media under the name Alex Choi, was charged in 2024 with placing an explosive or burnt Cen device on an aircraft. The accusation stems from a video posted around July 4, 2023 under the title “Destroying Lamborghini with Fireworks.”
The US Lawyer’s Office has signed a diversion agreement with the defendant. On July 3, the U.S. Probation Service excluded Choi from supervision after confirming that it complied with all pretrial diversion conditions.
The claim filed Monday by US lawyer Bill Essayli and US lawyer A. Williams moves to dismiss the complaint with bias against Choi.
Suk Min Choi has created a video of two women who shot fireworks from a Lamborghini helicopter in a social media stunt. Reported by Macy Jenkins of NBC Los Angeles.
Federal authorities initially said Choi had not obtained the necessary approval from the Federal Aviation Administration to film the video and did not have an explosion license or permit from the Bureau of Alcohol, cigarettes, firearms and explosives.
In the nearly 11-minute video, Choi presses the “fire missile” button and two women in the moving helicopter shoot fireworks at a luxury sports vehicle in the desert of San Bernardino County, the affidavit says.
“After filming what appears to be a live-action version of a fictional video game scene, the video moves backstage to see how Choi filmed the first third of the video,” court documents say.
