Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton came out strong Friday morning, announcing a “historic” $2.9 million funding over the past three months for the Republican Senate election.
Paxton, a Magazine Champion and longtime ally of President Donald Trump, has been abused by multiple controversies over the past decade, but is becoming an expensive, intense and brutal battle, a longtime GOP senator to Texas Sen. John Cornyn.
Paxton’s fundraising announcement comes hours after the new development rocked major Lone Star races.
Paxton’s wife, Texas Sen. Angela Paxton, a Republican, announced Thursday that she had filed for divorce from her longtime husband.

“Today, after 38 years of marriage, I filed for divorce on biblical reasons,” the state senator wrote in a social media post.
“I think marriage is a sacred contract and we have seriously pursued reconciliation,” she added. “However, in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe it either respects God or loves myself, my children, or Ken to stay in marriage.”
In his own statement, Ken Paxton said, “After facing countless political attacks and pressures of public scrutiny, Angela and I have decided to start a new chapter in our lives.”
The Attorney General said, “I could not be more proud, grateful or grateful to the incredible family that God blessed us, and I continue to be committed to supporting our incredible children and grandchildren. I ask for your prayers and privacy at this point.”
Trump’s ally Paxton launches major Senate challenges in Texas
Paxton, who first won the election as Texas Attorney General in 2014 and re-elected twice, was fired off by Texas House members on allegations of corruption several years ago. He was later acquitted by the state Senate.
The veteran Texas-based Republican strategist said when asked how the divorce bomb would affect the Senate primary, the key was whether there would be more harmful revelations going forward.

“Most people I’m talking about are hoping for more details in this story that the main Republican voters would not be too satisfied,” said the strategist who asked to remain anonymous in order to speak more freely. “I think there’s a lot to come soon.”
In a fundraiser release, Paxton highlights that he was blown away by the support he received since launching the campaign.
“Our voters are excited to send John Cornyn’s packaging for years, so he’s down over 20 points, and his campaign is becoming more and more desperate,” Paxton pointed out many recent polls showing his lead on the Senate, making his campaign even more desperate.
Thanks to his strong support among the world of Magazine, Pauling was not a Paxton issue when taking on Cornin.
A more important question was whether he could compete financially with senators with a history of strong fundraising.
Cornyn’s campaign has yet to announce second quarter funding. However, the conservative majority Texans, a Super PAC lined up at Cornyn, announced on July 1 that they had raked for $10.9 million over the past three months.
Another GOP consultant in Texas called for anonymity, but Paxton said questions need to be answered quickly to prevent supporters and donors from jumping over the ship.

“People who support him with public assistance, such as elected officials or people who support him financially, would like to answer very quickly, as is the case today. Is this true? Is this true? Do you deny it?
And the consultant noted that Paxton’s wife said that the progress ahead was important.
“State Senator Angel Paxton has been with Ken’s side throughout the saga for the past decade, and he was personal and approaching all the issues he was charged with. She was in front of all of it and the center.”
Cornyn’s campaign did not make a statement about divorce news, but issued a release entitled “Ken Paxton’s Therable Beek.”
It included social media posts from Matt Schaefer, a former conservative member of the state legislature who argued that “Paxton is morally unsuitable for office.”
Trump has remained neutral in primary elections up until now, but Senate majority leader John Tune and the National Republican Senators Committee (NRSC) are supporting Cornyn.

Another Republican could enter the Senate primary.
Rep. Wesley Hunt, the rising Magazine star who represents the Houston area, is pondering the Senate run. Sources confirmed to Fox News earlier this year that Hunt had claimed to President Donald Trump’s political team that he was the only person who could win both the GOP primary and general elections.

And on Friday, the Texas-based conservative strategist told Fox News, who asked him to remain anonymous for more freedom to speak, “Hunt is still the only candidate in Texas and can win general elections and general elections.”
Another consultant said “the chance that Ken will finish the race will dramatically change the dynamics,” and “it gives you absolutely a hunt.”
