Family and friends of workers at Ventura County Marijuana Farm, targeting immigration enforcement activities, visited the location Friday in hopes of reuniting after the uproar and turmoil near Camarillo.

Dozens of people have been detained during the federal operation at Glasshouse Farms, and authorities said they are running criminal warrants. The Department of Homeland Security said 200 people were arrested in the operation near Camarillo and at another Glasshouse Farm facility in the Carsinteria community in Santa Barbara County.

On a Friday morning in Camarillo, there was a young boy on the farm. The boy, who spoke to NBCLA with permission from his father, said he was looking for a mother who was two months pregnant and didn’t return home on Thursday evening.

“I want to win a mother, but I can’t get her,” Juan said in tears. “My mother gave us everything. Everything we need.”

Juan said his mother, who is originally from Mexico, has been working at Glass House Farm for over a month. One of California’s largest licensed marijuana farms, the farm became the focus of what officials said was the biggest immigration attack under the Trump administration.

Dozens of people were taken into custody on a farm near Camarillo on Thursday. Lauren Coronado is reporting NBC4 News at 6am on July 10, 2025.

Workers on the farm during the operation said agents surrounded the staff and detained hundreds of people. Some families who spoke to NBCLA on Friday said their loved ones might still be hiding on the farm.

In Thursday’s attack, the video showed several white vans and at least one US ex-Service bus at the scene, similar to those seen in other immigration enforcement activities in Southern California. Details about where the detained individual was filmed on VANS and the location of the bus were not immediately available.

Some workers’ families were on the property early on Friday to try and reunite with their loved ones or find out where they were taken after the attack.

Federal agents descended on the Camarillo and Heart Glasshouse Farm facility to execute a criminal warrant, according to federal authorities. The DHS said law enforcement activities are part of an investigation into immigration and potential child labour violations.

Glass House Farms said on social media that he was visited by staff on Thursday for immigration and customs enforcement and “complied with the agent’s search warrants.” State records show that the company has multiple active licenses to grow cannabis in California.

Camarillo Farm Friday employees did not respond to requests for comment on operations.

The FBI issued compensation for information about anyone believed to have fired during immigration enforcement activities in rural Ventura County. It will air in Los Angeles on Friday, July 11th, 2025.

A U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Commissioner said 10 undocumented minors were found on property, eight of whom were unaccompanied.

During a standoff that lasted for hours near Camarillo, agents clashed with protesters on a road surrounded by the community’s vast farms northwest of Los Angeles. According to DHS, four people were arrested on suspicion of attack or resisting.

The FBI also issued a $50,000 reward to anyone armed with a gun that appears to have fired in one of the arguments. No injuries related to the shooting have been reported.

Details of the claims included in the warrant were not immediately available, but DHS said the information will be made public as the investigation continues.

Of the seven people injured and federal agents during the Camarillo clash, four of them were taken to hospital, while three others were treated and released on scene, the Ventura County Fire Department confirmed Thursday.

Federal immigration enforcement agents have stepped up arrests in Southern California, operating in car washes, farms and car parks for home improvement stores. The Trump administration has revitalized the National Guard to protect federal property and staff, with several security guards and vehicles seen near Camarillo.

Over 55,000 immigrants across the country have gained ice custody over the past six months, according to data compiled by NBC News. Approximately 28% have been criminally convicted, and about 25% have been pending criminal charges. Approximately 47% were listed as “other immigrant violators.”

California has 10.6 million immigrants, more than any other state, according to the California Institute of Public Policy. The Pew Research Center estimates that 1.8 million immigrants in California have not been documented in 2022, down from 2.8 million in 2007.

At least half of California’s estimated 255,700 farmers have not been documented, according to UC Merced Research.
