Gilsum, New Hampshire — Republicans have not wasted the opportunity to make democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani a udgel to bash-hit Democrats across the country.
The surprising mayor’s major victory in Mandani’s most populous city has rocked the political world and fueled an already volatile election season.
Republicans have not been more lenient in trying to pin down the mum ticks to Democrats across the country running competitive race in elections this year and in the middle of next year.
That’s true in a prominent New Hampshire competition to take over Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.
Republican candidate and former Senator Scott Brown came up this week with a digital ad compilation of photos of Race’s Democratic candidate, Rep. Chris Papas, along with photos of progressive rock stars Mamdani and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who supported Mamdani and Mamdani.

Pappas said he toured WS Badger, a natural, organic skincare and sunscreen company in this southwestern New Hampshire town, and spoke to Fox News on the campaign trail, saying “Republicans have run tens of millions of dollars of attack ads in the year depicting me as someone I am not.”
“People know me. They know the work I’m doing. They know that I’m one of the most bipartisan members of the House of Representatives because they believe in me solving problems and getting things done,” Papas said. “I’m a New Hampshire Democrat and I’m proud of my track record in Congress.”

Pappas has joined the campaign path by longtime Minnesota Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who spent a lot of time in New Hampshire, joining the campaign path ahead of her third place finish in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary.
“It’s about New Hampshire. They’re going to do this with all these races across the country. They’re trying to add people. People have never even met some of these people. And they’re continuing to do that. “For me, this is about what’s going on for the people in this state.”

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) was one of the first gates to utilize Mamdani’s slow left, and fired minutes after his victory, claiming that “a new Democrat face just dropped, and it straightened out of a socialist nightmare.”
NRCC spokesman Mike Marinella, aiming to connect the Democrats of the family to Mamdani, arguing that “all vulnerable House Democrats own him, and all Democrats who run in the primary are afraid of him.”
The National Republican Senate Campaign (NRSC) also quickly joined the game, linking Papas with Abdul El-Seid – one of the democratic Senate candidates on the Michigan battlefield – in favor of Mamdani.
It’s not surprising. The Republican attack has repeatedly argued that the 33-year-old Ugandan-born state legislator from Queens, New York City, is a “communist” since Mamdani’s victory two weeks ago.
Mamdani is giving Republicans plenty of ammunition as he took a big step to becoming the city’s first Muslim mayoral candidate, winning former president Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates.
He proposes eliminating fares for taking New York City’s vast bus system, creating rent to freeze CUNY (City University of New York) into “tuition-free” local government homes, providing “free childcare” for children up to five years old, and establishing a government-run grocery store.

Also, fueling Republican attacks is a recent news item that has gone viral. They include photos of Mamdani posted online from 2020, showing that she is turning the statue of Christopher Columbus. The story of Mamdani’s comments last December was when he said he would arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as mayor, and in a Cable News interview he said that he had “have a lot of capitalist criticism.”

“The Democrats are trying to convince people that their tails don’t rock the dog. They don’t answer the more extreme elements of the party,” veteran Republican strategist Colin Reid told Fox News. “Now that effort is waning by socialists who won their own elections by hand to determine who will run America’s biggest city in the book.”
“This is a messaging nightmare to unfold in real time from now until mid-term,” said Reid, Brown’s top political adviser.

Veteran political scientist Wayne Lesperance told Fox News, “The main challenge for Democrats regarding Mamdani’s candidacy isn’t his policy approach. The challenge is his party’s identification as a democratic socialist.”
“If you have any doubts about the negative implications of adding the word socialist to Mamdani’s party affiliation, you need to read through the national reporting focusing on his party and the absence of party leaders who rush to his defense, support or offer support,” the University of New England president said.

However, Democrats have questioned the effectiveness of the GOP push.
They argue that there is a world of global differences between a critical blue New York City where Democrats outperform Republicans by about 6-1 margin, and several major battlefield states and swing districts around the country.
“I love New York, but it’s a very liberal place and I don’t know that it can be applied to other parts of the country,” Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen told reporters the day after Mamdani’s victory.

Collin Gaitaly of Pappas Campaign Communications Adviser pointed to the ads for the Brown campaign, saying, “Granite Staters trusts Chris and sees through these attacks.”
And veteran Democratic strategist Joe Caiazzo warned, “I’m probably not reading this much.”
Kaiazzo, a veteran of Senator Bernie Sanders’ 2016 and 2020 presidential elections, claimed that “Republicans do this too much.”
