President Donald Trump came out in support of Attorney General Pam Bondi in the wake of the dispute between her and FBI deputy director Dan Bongino over the processing of Jeffrey Epstein’s files.
The Department of Justice has decided not to release any additional Epstein files and has confirmed that there is no list containing Epstein clients. Bongino had a fierce conflict with Bondi, and according to someone who spoke to sources familiar with Bondi’s interactions with Bondi, Bongino and FBI director Kash Patel, had a fierce conflict with Bondi and considered resigning from his post amid differences.
Epstein died in 2019 while in custody, and medical inspectors committed suicide in his death. He was facing charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy.
Handling of Epstein files has sparked differences among MAGA conservatives.
Trump tried to unify his party on Saturday when he came out in support of Bondi, saying on social media that she is doing a “great job” and that his administration should all be “one team.”
“What’s going on with my ‘boy’ and, in some cases, ‘gal’? “They are all chasing Attorney General Pam Bondy, who we are on one team.
The president continued to check Patel’s name and said his agency should focus on a list of other priorities. The list included asking for a survey of the 2020 election, which Trump repeatedly falsely argued.
“Let Pam Bondy do her job – she’s amazing!” Trump wrote, adding that people should not waste their time and energy on Jeffrey Epstein, someone who cares no one.”
Bondi served as Florida Attorney General from 2011 to 2019 after she was the first woman to be elected to the office.
