The approval event for Democratic candidate for New York City mayor Zoran Mamdani ended abruptly on Monday when he was pulled behind the scenes by campaign aides.
After accepting support from the local 802, the American Federation of Musicians, Mamdani decided that former Governor Andrew Cuomo would remain in the race as an independent candidate, answering several questions about his meeting with House minority leader Haicumo Jeffries, DN.Y.
About 20 minutes after the event, before Mamdani continued to answer reporter questions, his campaign staff said, “I think we’ve finished here. We’re going. Come on, we’re wrapped.
However, Mamdani stood by the podium to listen to the reporter’s questions about the chorus of the campaign assistant’s voice. With a smile on his face, Mamdani was pulled away as the campaign aide grabbed her by the arm.
