House Speaker Mike Johnson revealed that the lengthy text he sent Elon Musk in his feud with President Donald Trump in early 2025 was delivered “to the ether” after being told that the tech billionaire had changed his mobile phone number after he spewed it with the president.
“I sent him a long text message and his phone number has changed because on his podcast New York Post columnist Miranda Devine had realised that he had not been a direct line to Musk, and his phone number sent him a long text message after he realized that New York Post columnist Miranda Devine had been making a public appearance on Wednesday.
“I later got the number and realized that I was sending it to Ether somewhere, but he’d never read it,” he continued. “So I look forward to meeting him in person. We’ve got to do it right. Obviously, I have a great respect for what he did.”
It is known that famous individuals, such as celebrities and billionaires, frequently change their mobile numbers due to privacy and security concerns.
Johnson said before the spat he was to meet and send other “long text messages” and keep the mask in a big, beautiful bill loop.

Musk and Trump’s previous tight relationship fell into tatters in May. Musk served as the public leader of the government’s efficiency department. This works to strip the federal government as a special government employee.
Musk’s tenure driered at the end of May, and soon followed the X campaign to launch a tech billionaire behind big companies like SpaceX and Tesla to rally Republican lawmakers to vote against the law and stagnate to increase the US debt cap by $5 trillion.

Trump argued that Musk is publicly condemning the law. “But obviously (Musk) has become unhappy in a very short period of time,” Johnson said. “I mean, he knew in the general public what we were doing and we talked about it, which means he knew for months we worked on this.
“But I’ll let others judge that,” he added. “I have to keep an eye on the awards and keep moving forward, and I’m trying to become a peace director in all of that.”

Fox News Digital attempted to send an email to Johnson’s office for additional comments on the issue, but did not receive a reply immediately.
