Hours after two people were reportedly detained in connection with a toddler found dead in a parking lot in Panorama City, police say three more people have been detained.
All five people detained had not yet been officially arrested as of 7am Wednesday.
Preliminary information that emerged late Tuesday night shows a woman and two men being detained in a large apartment in the 14,500 block of Lanark Avenue. Unconfirmed reports from the scene suggested detention was linked to the discovery of a dead child that occurred around 7am on July 12th.

The child was near a trash can in the mall’s car park in the 8200 block of Vanneis Boulevard, less than half a mile from the Lanark Avenue apartment. His name and cause of death have not been revealed.

The male subjects were seen being kicked out of the building by medical personnel with the LA Fire Department. He was handcuffed by Gurney and placed behind the ambulance.
As the man was loaded into the ambulance, many people, many people were filming the ordeal on their cell phones, so I heard someone screaming the word “justice” several times.
The third person reportedly was taken into custody around midnight. A crowd of onlookers will pack an area outside the gate parking lot of the complex, forcing patrol cruiser police to issue commands to help people break up, with a video show.

Tuesday night law enforcement activity, LAPD Det. Aguilar said investigators in the department’s child abuse unit had received tips from the public who led them to Lanark’s apartment.
“They were able to narrow it down to two units. [within the building] They conducted a search warrant on one of those units at 9:30pm Tuesday. “When they provided the warrant, they detained one adult man and one woman… there were two children in the unit.”
LAPD has since been under the control of the LA County Department of Children and Families Services.
Investigators learned that the secondary unit was allegedly involved in the case shortly after the initial warrant. The unit was also searched, but it was not clear whether evidence was found.
“While they were searching for that unit, investigators still had the interest of several people they wanted to find, so they used additional LAPD resources to find them on Sunset Boulevard near Ivar Avenue…they were taken into custody around 1am. [Wednesday]”Aguilar explained: “They are being held as people of interest by the LAPD.”
Those individuals were called two men and one woman. All five people detained are being questioned Wednesday morning as the investigation progresses.

One person who witnessed detention and is aware that several of the individuals detained spoke to KTLA early on Wednesday morning. He described a man who saw him being loaded into an ambulance as his wife, two children, and a father living with his wife’s children from another relationship.
According to eyewitnesses, all the man does is “play all day and when he’s not doing that, he’s helping his wife.”
“We talk almost every day – especially [his wife and I] She is my wife and best friend, so “Witness, Triono Coleman explained in detail.” We pray and share our meal together. ”
The couple firmly states that they are innocent, and Coleman fears that they will come back to their apartment and “people don’t have all the information and are hated.”
“I just wanted to talk on their behalf, because I love them,” he said.
Other nearby residents are sympathetic to the children and love themselves a little extra.
“Just thinking about it makes me emotional,” Johanna Mendoza said. “It makes me want to have and kiss [my children] It’s been a long time. ”

Authorities have yet to establish a relationship with the juvenile found dead to one of the five detainees, but at least one of them is believed to be the biological parent of the child, police say.
Aguilar noted that the study was heavily supported by public members who do not know the relationship between children and adults that are allegedly involved. They were sure they had seen children with those people.

Detectives continue their investigation Wednesday, interviewing witnesses and are attempting to determine the relationship between the child and the adult and the detainee if the child dies.
According to Aguilar, a formal arrest will be made and accusations will be made based on these interviews.
