Southern California residents are looking to travel from LAX to the Far East or Midwest. There will be more options starting next year.
Delta announced two new major non-stop routes, Lax-HKG (Hong Kong) and Lax-Ord (Chicago), which were set up to get back into operation in June 2026. Both are considered two of the busiest airports in the world.
Delta’s upcoming non-stop service to Hong Kong not only provides LAX-based travelers with direct routes to one of the world’s most important cities, but also offers 30 convenient one-stop connections with Los Angeles, according to media releases from airline officials.
“As LAX’s biggest global carrier in seating and departures, we continue to invest in routes that are important to our customers,” Paul Bardoni, senior vice president of network planning at Delta, said in a media release.
Delta Air Lines will be seen at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on January 11th, 2023.
Domestically, the Delta will introduce its first non-stop flight between LAX, one of the most important hubs in the Midwest, and Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. There are a total of three flights per day between LA and Chicago.

“This route will provide Angelenos with quick access to Chicago’s manufacturing, insurance and financial sector and its legendary culinary scene,” Delta officials said. “Midwest travelers will provide convenient gateways to LA’s high-tech and entertainment industry, providing seamless connections with Delta’s growing West Coast and Trans-Pacific network.”
This latest expansion of service comes after Delta resumed their Lax-Shanghai services last month. Earlier this year, the airline also announced that it will begin flying directly to Melbourne, Australia from December this year.
