Los Angeles County officials and US post office leaders celebrated the grand opening of the new village post office on Wednesday, inside Webster’s pharmacy in Altadena.
The village post office, located at Unit D 2333 N Lake Ave, offers limited services, including selling first class Forever stamp booklets, free priority mail flat rate supplies, and accepting flat rate products and packaging for prepaid priority mail.
Village post offices are located in non-fatal service facilities such as community businesses, city halls and government centres, providing basic postal services that are not available to traditional post offices.
The post office in Webster’s pharmacy is open during the store’s regular opening hours: 9am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday, and 9am to 1pm Saturday.
“Postal Services is a huge thank you to its customers and appreciate your patience as we continue to expand and restore Altadena’s services to customers,” the statement said in a statement.
For additional postal services, customers can access the Pasadena Post Office at 600 Lincoln Avenue, Pasadena, California, or access the USPS service online at USPS.com.
A new post office location opened after the Eton Fire destroyed the local Altadena Post Office in January.
