The suspect was taken into custody after he began pursuit at his San Gabriel Valley home early Thursday morning, barricaded and allegedly assaulted aide in his car.
It was around 2am that an adult male driver attempted to carry out a traffic stop in the 19500 block of East Walnut Drive in Industrial Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office. Officials did not say why the man was handed over.
An unconfirmed report from Stringer Service KNN said the suspect attacked the aide with a vehicle, leading to a shooting of the aide, but LASD said it did not comment on the possibility of the collision. However, LASD said the deputy was taken to hospital for minor injuries but did not identify how the deputy was injured.
LASD confirmed that Walnut Station lawmakers fired fire on suspects around fairways and walnut driving during an attempted traffic stop. The suspect was not shot, and according to KNN, he later led the deputies in the pursuit.
Officials said the suspect barricaded his house in the 500 block of Roxdale Avenue in Lapuente, and he was eventually taken into custody. His identity was not released anytime soon.
LASD said there is no information available as of 8am and it is investigating secondary shootings per protocol.
