Undocumented DUI drivers who currently kill two teens in federal custody – NBC Los Angeles

The 43-year-old man, who prosecutors say he was deported twice when he killed two teens in a DUI crash in Orange County, was handed over to federal custody on Thursday, the Justice Department said.

In November 2021, police say Oscar Eduardo Ortega Anguiano, a convicted felon who was illegally in the country, was driving drunk on Seal Beach when he crashed 19-year-old Paul Osokin and his girlfriend, 19-year-old Anya Valfolomeve.

Anguino has sentenced him to 10 years, 3.5 years for drunk driving in 2021, and is expected to face accusations of illegally re-entering the United States, according to federal prosecutors.

Anatoly Valforomev, the father of one of the victims, said he was waiting outside a facility in Vacaville on Wednesday and would like to meet a man convicted of killing his daughter.

“If I could see a guy, I might have the opportunity to say what I think about him,” Anatoly said. “I will never forget him because of what he did to my family and Osokin’s family.”

Anatoly never saw Anguiano being released, but the US Department of Justice is expected to NBC4 that he is currently under federal custody and will be charged with federal charges early tomorrow.

“Well, I’m satisfied, I can’t say I’m happy.

DUI Driver, a convicted felon who has been found guilty of murdering two teens after their families served a 10-year sentence of three years, was furious. Hetty Chang is reporting an NBC4 News report on April 23, 2025 at 7pm.

This month’s scheduled release of Anguino was six and a half years before the 10-year sentence that infuriated the two teenage families he killed. It also sparked a political responsibility game between federal government and state officials.

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Press Office issued a statement in April that the GOP district attorney had given Anguiano a plea deal in exchange for pursuing a second-degree murder charge.

“After being deported in 2013, the individual illegally rejoined the United States and committed violent crimes. The GOP DA then gave a plea deal instead of pursuing a double-degree murder.

In response to the governor’s statement, Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer wrote:

“This was not a plea agreement, this was a defendant who was filed in court and sentenced by a judge under California law and was declared against an Orange County prosecutor.

In a post on X, US lawyer Bill Essayli wrote that his office filed a felony immigration charge against Anguiano.

“If California doesn’t seek a full measure of justice for this individual, @TheJusticedept will,” the assay said.

According to federal complaints, Anguiano was deported and removed from the United States in 2016 and 2018. Three years later, in 2021, Anguiano got drunk and killed two teens on the 405 highway in Seal Beach.

The Federal University Ju Court was charged in 2022 for illegally re-entering Anjano.

Anatoly says the federal accusations won’t take away the pain of losing her daughter, but they’ll return some of the family’s trust.

“It won’t take away our pain. It won’t heal us, but at least we’ll have some degree of trust in society,” Anatoly said.
