The New York Post reported that despite some claiming they spent money from their pockets, they claimed they used their pockets to visit thousands of people with campaign funds, and visited MS-13 gang member Kilmer Abrego Garcia.
Democrats gathered around Abrego Garcia after claiming they were accidentally deported to their home country in El Salvador in March by the Trump administration.
Several Democrats, including representatives Maxwell Frost and D-FLA. Robert Garcia, D-Calif. , Yassamin Ansari, D-Ariz. , Maxine Dexter, d-ore. Then Glenn Evie (D-Md.) flew to El Salvador to defend Abrego Garcia’s return.
The New York Post reported that Frost, Garcia, Ansari and Dexter had jointly travelled to San Salvador and pressured the Trump administration to return Abrego Garcia.

The New York Post writes that a Federal Election Commission (FEC) submission reported that Frost’s campaign spent $1,362 on Salvador Colombia Airlines’ Vianca on May 8, about a week after visiting Abrego Garcia.
Dexter’s campaign reportedly spent $1,315 on a trip with TACA Airlines on April 18, despite saying he himself funded the trip.
Despite spending his own money on a trip to a local news outlet, Ansari’s campaign reported in a FEC filing that he spent $2,616 on the trip alongside Salvador Air Air Vianca in the same month that the lawmakers flew to visit Abrego Garcia.
Meanwhile, the California Democrat Garcia office confirmed that in April it spent $1,982 on another Salvadoran Airline Taka International Airline in April, and an additional $502 for an “event space rental” at Hilton San Salvador.

According to a post-report, Ivy, who tried to visit Abrego Garcia in late May, spent $291 on a campaign fund.

Abrego Garcia, who was returned to the US in June, faces allegations of human smuggling and conspiracy.

According to the indictment, Abrego Garcia played a “significant role” in a human smuggling ring that has been operating for nearly a decade. Attorney General Pam Bondy described him as a full-time smuggler who traveled over 100 times and transported women, children and people belonging to the MS-13 gang throughout the United States.

Abrego Garcia was arrested in Hyattville in October 2019, at which point he was identified by Prince George County, according to police and court records shared with Fox News Digital. [Maryland] Police gang unit as a member of the MS-13.
