At a celebratory dinner at the White House, along with Donald Trump’s GOP allies, including several Republican lawmakers in Congress, the president informed that 10 more hostages in Gaza would be “coming soon.”
Dinner focused primarily on promoting the achievements Republicans had been having over the past six months, but Trump commented on hostages, praising the administration’s work on foreign policy.
“Gaza – we’ve got most of the hostages back,” Trump said as his comments were directed towards the Middle East. “We’re going to have another 10 soon, and we hope it ends pretty quickly,” the president added.

So far, the United States has taken home five total American hostages captured by Hamas, three of whom have been alive. The two Americans, along with dozens of other non-Americans, are reportedly still in captivity.

Trump’s remaining speeches on Friday night were praised primarily by Congressional Republicans over the job of passing one big beautiful bill law.
In particular, Trump thanked Senate Majority Leader John Tune, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Senate Majority Whip John Baraso, Republican Policy Committee Chairman Shelley Moore Capito, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Mike Krapo, and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham.
“No one has done it that fast, and you can probably say there are fewer votes,” Trump praised. “You stayed in the session for 10 consecutive weeks of marathons. That’s the longest in the Senate in 15 years. And you’ve won over 400 votes in 35 years than the Senate. And they were successful.

The president also praised Republicans for all their work on immigration, border security, foreign diplomacy, swift cabinet nomination, deregulation and spending efforts, calling on Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff, especially for work on foreign diplomacy in the United States.

Friday night’s top also praised Trump for passing as well as the GOP Recission package. Trump did not indicate when he would sign the GOP bill, but said “many other rebates are approaching, adding another $10 billion.”

Meanwhile, Trump predicted in 2026 that the GOP majority would “be stronger in both the House and Senate.” Traditional wisdom usually predicts that parties that have won the presidency will not perform even during the midterm elections two years later.
“When you won the presidency, you didn’t understand why you say you’re always automatically losing the middle ground because you didn’t have a period of success than us,” Trump told a crowd of White House attendees on Friday evening. “Based on that, we should do great things.”

Trump added Friday that “most administrations achieved more in six months than they could have achieved in eight years.”
“And we have a lot of six months left. We’re going to have six, six more, six more, so we’ll keep going,” he continued. “We have an incredible record to share with Americans over the next year and a half,” he continued. “Americans are on our side as long as we keep our promises to our voters.”
