The suspect was arrested after it was discovered that a man had been shot dead in San Bernardino.
San Bernardino police say the suspect was identified as 44-year-old David Castillo Jr.
On July 4th, police responded to a shooting in the 100 block of North Arrowhead Avenue before 4:30pm.
Upon arrival, officers spotted a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. His identity has not been released.
The suspect fled the area before police arrived. Following the investigation, homicide investigators later identified Castillo as the suspect.
On July 15th, Castillo was in San Bernardino where he was taken into custody. No further details were released including motives and whether the suspect and victim were known to each other.
“Detectives are trying to identify additional witnesses that may have been in the area when the shooting occurred,” police said.
