Police announced Saturday the arrest of the former Laguna Beach Hotel general manager, who has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor and is accused of being involved in drug sales and possession of illegal firearms.
The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Felton Calhoun of Laguna Niguel, was the former manager of La Casa del Camino. Officers began an investigation on July 15 after receiving reports of sexual assault involving a 17-year-old girl, according to the Laguna Beach Police Department. Calhoun was arrested the following day, July 16th.
“The incident occurred about three weeks ago in Laguna Beach, where the juvenile victim told police that Calhoun raped her while he was drunk,” LBPD said. Police did not specify whether Calhoun was an employee of the hotel at the time or whether the incident occurred.
Detectives and special enforcement team officials began investigating the report and quickly identified Calhoun as a suspect, and also learned that he sold cocaine and carried a firearm.
“LBPD provided a search warrant at his residence, where additional drugs and firearms were seized during the business,” the department’s statement read.
Police safely detain Calhoun and book him at the Laguna Beach Police Station prison, where he is in custody without bail. He was charged with one count of rape of an intoxicated person, one count of legal rape of a minor over the age of three, one count of sending harmful material to a minor, and possession of drugs for the sale and possession of a firearm and drug.
