The landscaper discovered the body of a dead man while working along the horse trail in Rancho Cucamonga over the weekend, authorities confirmed with KTLA on Sunday.
The body of the unidentified man was found on a trail near Malachite Avenue above Wilson Avenue, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office. Neighbors say the body was found on Saturday.
“The cause of death is pending, but the firearm was nearby the body,” a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department said.

Details are limited. SBSD did not immediately provide identification information or state whether this was related to other ongoing investigations within the county.
Additionally, initial reports from residents showed that there may have been multiple bodies, but SBSD confirmed that no other bodies were found.
