Starbucks said Monday that the pumpkin spice latte will return on August 26 to save its US and Canadian menu.

Pumpkin Spice Latte is Starbucks’ most popular seasonal drink, and has been sold by hundreds of millions of people since its launch in 2003. It also produced many imitations. Dunkin introduced a pumpkin-flavored drink in 2007, but McDonald’s brought it to the menu in 2013.
Let’s take a look at the pumpkin spice latte in numbers.
100: Number of Starbucks stores that sold pumpkin spice lattes during their 2003 tests in Vancouver and Washington. The following year it was released nationwide.
79: The number of markets in which Starbucks sold pumpkin spice lattes in 2024. The company has stores in 85 markets worldwide.
$36.2 billion: Starbucks net revenue for 2024 ended in September last year. Starbucks’ net revenue was $4.1 billion when pumpkin spice slatte first sold in 2003.
33.8%: Increased mention of pumpkin spices on the US menu between fall 2014 and fall 2024, according to Technomic.
4: Number of spices in McCormick’s pumpkin pie spices. They are cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and allspice.
2022: The year that Merriam-Webster added “Pumpkin Spice” to its dictionary. The term “pumpkin pie spice” was said to be less common.
3: Pumpkin Spice Latte was the third seasonal drink introduced by Starbucks after egg nogglate and peppermint mocha.

24%: According to Placer.ai, the day the pumpkin spice latte was sold, the amount of traffic increased at Starbucks last year in the US on August 22nd. The company compared its Thursday traffic to the previous eight Thursdays.
45.5%: According to Placer.ai, priced traffic rose at Starbucks stores in North Dakota on August 22, 2024. Pedestrians in Mississippi were the least rising at 4.8%.
42,000: Number of members of the Leaf Rakers Society, a private Facebook group Starbucks, created in 2018 to celebrate autumn throughout the fall.
