The Arkansas couple is reunited with their beloved pet who has been missing for four days thanks to a drone operator who rescued the puppy as if a dangerous predator had attacked them.
Jordan and BookAllen’s dog whiskey escaped the backyard of Morilton’s house through a loose fence board and disappeared into a wooded area nearby, according to NBC News affiliate Kirk TV.
After searching and posting on whiskey on social media for several days, the couple connected with Chris Laughlin, the drone pilot and owner of Russellville-based Natural State Drone Solutions.
“They call me and they sound pretty desperate,” Loughlin told Kirk.
Loughlin was able to use a drone to scan the forest from the sky, and eventually found whiskey along with the coyote. Loughlin said he used the drone’s propeller wash to drive out the coyotes, allowing Allens to safely retrieve their pets.
“The last second rescue of a dachshund who has been missing for four days. The puppy is in good health and will be checked out with the vet as a precaution,” he said in a Facebook post on July 15th along with drone footage.
The couple believes that the efforts of the drone and Loughlin saved Whiskey’s life and reunited their families.
“There was no way to find him without that drone. He saved our family. He’s part of the family,” Allens told Kare-TV.
