Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley released confidential documents related to the FBI’s investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private mail servers while serving the federal government, revealing that the FBI reportedly failed to fully investigate the issue.
“This document illustrates the extreme lack of effort and due diligence in the FBI’s investigation in the use of former Clinton’s emails and the investigation of false and false secretaries of highly classified information,” Grassley said in a press release Monday.
“Under Comey’s leadership, the FBI was unable to carry out basic research work and left important evidence on the cutting chamber floor,” he continued. “Comie’s FBI’s negligence approach and perhaps a lack of intentional effort in Clinton’s investigation are in stark contrast to a complete investigation of Trump-Russia’s conspiracy hoax.
Clinton, who served as former President Barack Obama’s Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013, was investigated by the FBI for allegations that she improperly stored or sent confidential material to a private email server. The FBI advised the Justice Department that Clinton should not face prosecution on the issue ahead of the massive election that year when President Clinton pited against President Donald Trump in 2016.

“There is evidence of a potential violation of the Act on Handling Classified Information, but our decision is that no reasonable prosecutor will bring such a case,” then FBI Director James Comey said in a press release. “Prosecutors will inevitably weigh many factors before making a charge. There are obvious considerations, such as the strength of the evidence, especially with regard to intention. Responsible decisions take into account the context of a person’s actions and how similar situations have been handled in the past.”
Obama officials looked into the relevant documents and investigated them.
Grassley clearly released declassified material from the 2018 Department of Justice’s Department of Justice appendix, which reviewed the processing of the DOJ and FBI Clinton investigation. Attorney General Pam Bondy, as well as other Trump administration leaders from other agencies, declassified the documents and delivered them to Grassley at his request, his press release reported.

The document alleges that then-FBI director Comey and other FBI leaders had obtained thumb drives related to Clinton’s investigation but were unable to perform “additional target searches for drives,” according to Grassley’s office.

Thumb drive reportedly wasn’t reviewed during the investigation, but it “contained highly sensitive information from US government agencies, including the State Department, then Barack Obama’s emails, and potentially congressional information.”

The FBI also obtained information that communications with Florida Democrat Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz allegedly served as chair of the Democratic National Committee until he resigned until July 2016, and worked for the Soros Open Society Foundation, founded by left-wing billionaire donor George Soros.

“The Intelligence Report argued that the Obama administration had given up on Clinton’s investigation and made efforts to protect her candidacy,” Grassley’s release reported, but the FBI at the time reported that “did not make any serious investigative efforts.”

“I warned years ago that Clinton’s investigation failed to reach the mark. I am grateful that Americans can finally see the facts for themselves,” Grassley said in a press release. “Nearly a decade after The Shadows, this information was revealed thanks to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel’s dedication to meet the demands of Congress.
“We appreciate their continued commitment to transparency and urge them to continue to review this issue in full, including the impact of national security,” he said.

Grassley’s release claims that following the bombing of National Intelligence Director Tarshi Gabbard, Obama-era officials have brought the “manufactured and politicized intelligence news” to create a narrative that Russia is trying to influence the 2016 presidential election.
On Friday, Gabbard released an uncategorized document that was reportedly showing “overwhelming evidence” that then-President Obama and his national security team had laid the foundation for becoming a long-standing Trump-Russian collusion probe after winning Trump’s election against Clinton in 2016.

“Their goal was to take President Trump and overturn the will of the American people,” Gabbard posted on X on the detective introduction on Friday. “No matter how strong it is, everyone involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The integrity of the Democratic Republic depends on it. We hand over all documents to the DOJ for criminal referrals.”
Fox News confirmed Monday that DOJ received a crime referral from Gabbard related to the issue but did not share any additional comments.
