A massive drug bust was announced at Los Angeles International Airport after federal agents discovered hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine were hidden in the shipment of solar panels.
US Customs and Border Protection announced Monday morning that nearly 300 pounds of highly addictive stimulants officers suspected of trying to disguise between the panels.
The photograph provided by CBP appears to show the officers cutting through and peeling off a layer of duct tape and aluminum foil tied to the panel, eventually revealing a stack of methamphetamine.

However, the federal agency said the cargo was heading towards New Zealand, and officers were flagged “based on previous Intel” so agents could intercept drugs before export.
“We do this every day,” CBP said in a social media post. “These ‘criminal masterminds’ never had a chance. ”
