Dwayne “Rock” Johnson pays homage to Hulk Hogan – NBC Los Angeles

Rock cooked a sincere tribute to Hulk Hogan.

Millions of Furukamaniacs lamented the loss of wrestling legends on Thursday, with Dwayne Johnson among them.

The WWE star actor made a social media post to honor Hogan, who passed away at the age of 71.

“Live in peace, Terry Borea, aka The Immortal Hulk Hogan,” Johnson wrote in his post.

Hogan paved one or more Johnson roads. First, by helping wrestling reach its peak, then by making a path for the wrestlers to the big screen from the ring.

Long before he looked back at Heels as Hollywood Hogan, Hogan became Hollywood in a film. He was the lead of “No Holds Barred” in 1989, “Suburban Commando” in 1991, and “Mr. Nanny” in 1993, and of course he made the “Rocky III” cameo before the rise of Hulkamania in 1982.

Johnson became one of the biggest stars of wrestling during the WWE attitude era that began in the 1990s before becoming one of Hollywood’s highest-paid actors.

Hogan and Johnson squared in the ring at WrestleMania 18, which was Hogan’s first match at the event since 1993.

“If you kick out of the lock bottom finisher – listen and feel the crowd fall into electricity…
Johnson wrote in his post. Tango takes two, but the historic crowd’s response was all for you.

“You might have ‘give me the torch’ that night, but you, my friend…

“…You ‘drawn a house’, meaning you sold out all the arenas and stadiums across the nation of your Prime as Hulk Hogan to become the best of all time. ”

Hogan praised Rock in a 2023 interview with Sports Illustrations amid Johnson’s return to WWE.

“Rock, he’s kind of one,” Hogan said. “He’s on another level. It quickly stood out. But partially stood out to me. And I thought it was very clear. Rock is still struggling in his blood.”

Hogan recalls rehearsing the WrestleMania match, and looks at former wrestler Rocky Johnson, Johnson’s father.

“I’ve known Rocky Johnson for a long time, but even before I started to wrestletter,” Hogan told sports illustrators. “He was someone I admired. I remember that day standing in the ring still talking to Dwayne. All we could hear was Rocky Johnson screaming, “Dwayne, listen to Hogan!” ”

Hogan and Rock shared the ring again in 2014 at the opening of WrestleMania 30.

“Hulk Hogan kicked a lot for a long time,” Austin said while in the ring with Hogan. “We have been very protective of our heritage. Sitting next to you, seeing all the fees you paid, what you did for the business, I don’t respect you. I say I am grateful for the hell you live from what you did for this business.”

Then the rocks joined.

“When I look around this ring, I don’t see just two of the biggest legends of all time. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

The three then exchanged iconic catchphrases, shared toast in the ring, and then rang out the beer, which was their final time together in the ring.

“From deep in my bones and on behalf of this wild, crazy world of wrestling that we love,” Johnson concluded with his post,” I tell you now…forever…

“Thank you for the house, brothers…”
