Long Beach Police Department officials have arrested a man suspected of sexually abusing a teenage girl. And now, investigators say there may be additional casualties.
On Thursday morning, officers arrested 34-year-old Gabriel Vigil at his home in Long Beach near Pacific Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway.
Gabriel Vigil, 34, of Long Beach, is shown in this undated mug shot provided by the Long Beach Police Department.
Earlier this month, Vigill was the subject of an investigation earlier this month after reporting that Cabrillo High School staff had been sexually assaulted from campus by an alternative staff member who also coaches the school.
The detectives began an investigation, gathered evidence and took overnight detention.
He is jailed for one count of statutory rape, and one count is booked with one count that arranges a meeting with a minor for indecent purposes and contacts a minor to commit a felony. His bail is set at $100,000.
Due to the nature of the suspect, detectives believe there may be additional casualties that have not yet progressed. Anyone with information is advised to contact Long Beach Police Detective Jared Asato, a child and elder abuse department, at 562-570-7321.
