A Riverside man was arrested Thursday after months of investigation into the theft of a Wildemar travel trailer and golf cart, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
On April 25, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Office responded to a theft report in the 34,700 block of Oneal Road. Deputies were unable to find the suspect or stolen property at the time, but the incident was taken over by the station’s robbery and robbery control team.
Investigators later identified the suspect as 52-year-old Sean Bannister, a riverside resident. The location of the stolen trailer and golf cart was also determined during the investigation.
On July 24, with support from Riverside Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Office, Lake Elsinore Special Enforcement Team and the Riverside County Auto Theft Task Force, authorities served as a search warrant at Riverside’s 16,700 Woodsong Court residence. Bannister and two other individuals were detained at the scene without incident.

The lawmakers recovered the stolen travel trailer, golf cart, and two more stolen vehicles. They also discovered drugs, .22 caliber pistols and hundreds of rounds of ammunition during their search.
Bannister was taken to Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station for questions before being booked at the COIS Bird Detention Center. He faces multiple felony charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, perjury, possession of firearms and ammunition, prior theft, felony drug violations and selling drugs. Two other people who were detained at the scene were released after authorities determined they were not involved.
The investigation is underway. Anyone with additional information is advised to contact Noel Deputy Bureau, Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station, (951) 245–3300.
