President Donald Trump expressed his support for law enforcement, saying he has full confidence in his ability to determine why the “crazy madman” killed a New York City Police Department official at his Manhattan office tower on Monday.
“I’m described the tragic shooting that took place in Manhattan, a place I know and love,” Trump said in a social media post Tuesday. “Our law enforcement trusts this crazy madman to reach the bottom of why he committed such meaningless acts of violence. My heart is with four families, including the NYPD officer who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“Yesterday, as a mark of respect for the memory of Didalle Islam, the duties of Midtown Manhattan at 345 Park Avenue and multiple casualties of mass shooting, I ordered all the flags of the city buildings in all five districts and stationary Flagstaff to all the flags in all five districts, lowered until further attention was drawn.”
“New York City hero and guardian, Officer Didalur Islamic died while he lived. We will never forget you,” Adams wrote in another post on X.
