Authorities began a sweeping early Thursday at a massive homeless camp in Vanneis.
The location was near the 405 highway near Oxnard Street and had around 20 tents next to the business that included public storage.
The NBCLA contacted the city for further details.

The camp is adjacent to the flank east of the Sepulveda Basin recreation area and north of the expressway. The recreational area of the Sepulveda Basin and the surrounding homeless camps have been a persistent issue for years.
In June 2024, a firefighter was hospitalized due to an explosion during a brush fire in nature.
In January 2020, sanitary crews removed makeshift structures and debris from the 34-acre property near Encino Creek. The structure and generators were located in dense forests of palm trees and other vegetation.
The basin’s natural area is designated as a parkland that closes at dusk and reopens at dawn. Camping is prohibited.
In 2018 there were plans to change lots into a safe parking area where people can stay overnight. That plan never came to fruition.
