The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health advises residents to avoid swimming, surfing and other marine activities on some beaches due to rising bacterial levels in the water.
The warning is currently in effect at:
Mother’s Beach in Marina del Rey – Ramirez Creek throughout the swimming area of Paradise Cove – Ramirez Creek – 100 yards up and down the coast from Piertrand Street Extension in Santa Monica Beach – 24 Lifeguard Tower in Malibu – 100 yards up and down the coast from Topanga Canyon Beach. Pier – 100 yards up and down the coast from Castle Rock Storm Drain, Topanga County Beach Pier
These recommendations were issued because recent tests showed bacterial levels above state health standards, according to public health officials.
