The family of two mothers arrested during a deadly immigrant raid at the Camarillo Cannabis Farm are seeking the community’s help as they struggle to achieve their goals.
The Hernandez family is struggling to move on after Hernandez was taken into custody when federal agents stormed the Glasshouse Cannabis Farm on July 10th.
She remains in very federal custody as she left two girls, including a one-year-old toddler.
“They want strict things every day,” said Justino Hernandez, Arassely’s husband. He was extremely unconscious from the tear gas deployed by the agents and added to the building where she worked.
Aracely has been separated from her family for over two weeks.
Another Hernandez family is also upset by the aftermath of the Camarillo attack.
After his wife, Rutila, was taken into custody, Mario Hernandez said he was caring for his 11- and 2-year-olds. But in addition to worrying about his wife, it’s not an easy feat to hold back his full-time job while cooking and cleaning the house.
“Rent is very expensive,” Mario Hernandez said, adding that he doesn’t know when Latila will be released or sent to Mexico.
Two undocumented Hernandez men are trying to raise money on crowdfunding platforms while they are still working. They fear they’ll be arrested every time they leave the house, and wonder what will happen to their children.
“We live every day,” Mario said.
Justino said what he needs most is his wife, who will return home with his family.
The July 10 attack killed one farm worker, injured at least 12 people, and some needed to be hospitalized. The family said the deceased fell off the greenhouse roof while trying to hide from federal agents.
