R-FLA Sen. Rick Scott has approved Republican Rep. Byron Donald’s bid for Florida governor.
Scott served as governor of Sunshine before current Gov. Ron DeSantis.
“I am proud to stand up to President Trump and support Byron Donald for the governor of Florida. Byron is a principled conservative who fights with courage and conviction on behalf of all Floridians,” Scott pointed out.
“I am proud to be able to work with him in critical law to make flood insurance more affordable and to help Floridians recover and recover from a devastating hurricane. And in my time as governor, he was an important partner in securing billions of dollars in tax exemptions for Florida families.

Donald thanked the senators.
“Thanks @scottforflorida. You are an incredible leader in our state and it was an honor to fight with you on Capitol Hill,” Donald posted on X.
Donald announced his candidacy earlier this year after President Donald Trump supported him for the governor.

“Byron Donald will be a truly great and powerful governor for Florida. If he decides to run, he will have my full and full support. Trump declared in the Truth Social Post in February.
Desantis is serving a second term in the post, but is not eligible to run again in 2026 due to state period restrictions.
“Or no one has served as governor or representative governor for more than six years in two consecutive terms, or for resignation,” the Florida Constitution states.

Both Scott and Trump support R-Fla’s Sen. Ashley Moody in her upcoming bid to stay in the Senate.

DeSantis tapped Moody to replace Marco Rubio, who left the Senate well before the end of his term and served as Trump’s Secretary of State.
Moody is aiming to win a special election next year to provide the remainder of what was Rubio’s Senate term.
