Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman was arrested for multiple arms violations after a traffic stop Friday, authorities say.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with KTLA in a statement that Perryman was initially suspended by South LA Station deputies for a vehicle code violation.
“During the investigation, Perryman was arrested for multiple arms violations,” a LASD spokesperson said, adding that the veteran linebacker has been cooperative throughout the investigation.

A LASD statement issued late Saturday morning confirmed that Perryman was found with five guns. Two of them were attack style rifles. Authorities did not clarify whether he was heading towards gun range.

According to inmate search records, the 10-year NFL veterinarian was arrested around 9:40pm on Friday and was booked immediately. He is being held at South LA Station without bail.
He sets the court date on Tuesday. Both the Chargers and Perryman commented quickly on the issue.
Perryman, 32, was drafted by the Chargers in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft and spent five seasons with the team before stints with the Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans. He re-signed the charger in 2024.
