Police and media reports say two people are dead and six people were injured at the afterparty of the Hard Summer Music Festival in downtown Los Angeles.
Around 11pm, Los Angeles police officer Norma Eisenman said the “big party” was closed in the 14th place block in the 1100 block after officers saw a gun-armed person inside the area. The person was arrested at the scene, she said.
According to KTLA, the party was promoted on social media as a afterparty for the Hard Summer Music Festival, House and Techno Music Festival.

After the party broke up, officers were sent to the area after reports of the shooting and discovered that eight people had been shot, Eisenman said.
One man died at the scene and seven others were taken to hospital, where a woman was injured.
No arrests have been made and an investigation into the shooting is underway.
