Authorities say more than 12 men used baseball bats to destroy a taco truck in South Los Angeles, causing injuries to at least six people, including one of the workers.
According to LAPD spokesman Rosario Cervantes, around 12:05am on Sunday, a group of about 15 men used a baseball bat to destroy Avalon Boulevard’s Taco Truck, causing about six to injure.
One was hospitalized with abrasions and lacerations, while five others were treated in the hospital, she said. No suspicious information is available and no arrests have been made. The motivation is still under investigation.
Taco Truck employees have launched a GoFundMe page to raise funds for the victims of the attack. One of the workers was hospitalized due to injuries.
“This is absolutely devastating for us on so many levels. We’ve been here for almost 15 years and this hasn’t happened before,” according to the page. “We’ve never had any problems with anyone. Our team works very hard. We hope these people get charged with crimes. Our employees are hurt by this and will support them in every way possible.”
Videos of the attack were also streamed live on social media, showing mobs breaking the windows of the track.
“When one of my employees called me, “About 25 people hit us with baseball bats and metal, so call the police,” the owner, who didn’t want to use his name, told ABC7.
