Los Angeles can’t take a break.
The latest embarrassment is LA28 Chair Casey Wasserman, the man who confirmed the 2028 Summer Olympics was a huge success. At a press conference this week, Wasserman announced that President Trump will lead the Federal Olympic Task Force, providing LA with a huge Who Peak cushion.
With Wasserman on the left, Trump vowed to “return LA stronger than ever.” On the right side of Trump was La Harter’s rash, some of which played a prominent role in Southern California’s summer deportation. Rather than exist, Trump was welcomed by him during his presser as a “MVP candidate,” but there was Deputy Director Stephen Miller, who served on his life’s mission to crush the multicultural metropolitan area in which he was born.
So, what has Wasserman, a prominent Democratic donor who has thrown cash at Republican committees in recent months, did in front of those who want to rain holy hell in his hometown?
He praised Trump’s “support” at the LA Olympics as “really extraordinary” and presented him with a set of medals from the 1984 city-sponsored 1984 Game. When asked by reporters if he would deploy his troops to LA, Trump replied, “Do you do anything that is necessary to keep the Olympics safe, such as using the National Guard or the military?”
With the match taking place in the year of the presidential election, Trump loved nothing but to cross the LA, which was fundamentally transformed by his deportation, declaring his mission and broadcasting his conquest to the world.
Therefore, LA must withdraw from holding the Olympics.
Trump’s press conference called Mayor Karen Bass “not very capable,” but it looked like a preview of what you can expect from an introduction to the game. Hey, maybe the president will fall in love with the city over the next three years. And perhaps Miller’s bald putty will grow the hair worthy of Samson. However, history shows that a packering to Trump does not discourage him from his goals. And what has been for many years is humiliating the blue LA on every occasion.
Angelenos: Does Ustedes really want to give Trump and his goon team a chance to make life y’all miserable? You are not standing vaguely as you envision even more of the power that will ruin you – if you can, throw that problem elsewhere. And you definitely won’t entrust a kissing ass like Wasserman – I still don’t know what he did to deserve his powerful LA28 gig. It’s like giving a rich kid a super sauker and telling him to water the gardens of the Huntington Library.

In a city that has long faced existential problems, the idea of staging such a sight has always been unsettling to me. Booster has owned skeptics by claiming that the Olympics will help the city and come “free” to taxpayers. However, the city government should cover the initial $270 million cost overrun or revenue shortage.
Certainly, the Olympics rarely make a profit. The organising committee behind Paris Games last year claimed it had brought about about $30 million, which isn’t bad, but what the city of LA faced earlier this year was just 3% of its $1 billion budget deficit.
Expecting the Olympics to be economic and spiritual salvation for the city betrays Angelenos’ lack of trust in his ability to save himself. Nevertheless, a senior visiting California Tourism Group said last month at a state Senate Committee Committee hearing that holding the game “presents California’s latest global image as the most welcoming destination in the country.”
Do not spare PR PABLUM. The city doesn’t need a multi-billion dollar ad campaign to let the world know how cool it is or make them believe in its own right. We need people who are committed to solving problems not for tourists and visiting athletes, but for the people they have to live with every day.
Supporters will cry out at this point that it would be a major inconvenience to withdraw from the Olympics and destroy LA’s global status. However, withdrawing from its commitment to hosting a massive sporting event is not unprecedented. Denver is set to open the 1976 Winter Olympics three years and three months in advance, and its reputation worked well. Mexico hosted the 1986 World Cup after Colombia withdrew three years ago.
By passing the Olympics, LA officials can be concerned about whether to produce seven Super Bowls a day, as Wasserman loves to boast about. Wasserman and his best The Bright of the Bright allow us to focus on what LA really needs, not on how to turn Sophie Stadium into an aquatic centre.
And what if the LA28 throws a snit fit on the move? Well, you know how truly committed they have been to improve LA in the first place.
I write this Colonna as a huge fan who watches the opening ceremony every four years. The game’s problems are awful. I have vague memories of the 1984 game, but I clearly remember the Sam the Olympic Eagle Lunchbox I saw in my first year. I was looking forward to trying to win tickets for my wife and I, who were competitive backstrokers at Irvine’s College High.
But I don’t want to make money on what Trump uses to strengthen his harmful legacy. I’m not going to cheer for Wasserman while Ramigra continues to terrify LA, if perhaps not years or months. I don’t want to support events where footage of occupied LA could be front and center just like the Coliseum and badminton.
What will a true Angeleno do?
