The Lovebus Frenzy appears to have reached the point of robbery.
According to a social media post, Lapuente’s store, known for its adorable monsters and other products, was split up on Wednesday morning. The viral sensation known as the love bass may look like a toy for children, but it is highly sought after by adults and obviously thieves.

One-Stop Sales shared video footage on the Instagram page of the robber breaking into a store on Glendora Avenue around 1:30am. The store shared surveillance footage of a white Toyota Tacoma, believed to be involved in the robbery.
“Today, we were taken away, they took all the stock and destroyed the store,” the shopkeeper said in an Instagram post. “We’re still in shock.”
It is unclear what Labubu boxes the thief made, but the store was promoting the inventory on social media a few days before the break-in.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
One-Stop Sales, which opened in May, sells gorgeous animals and other items in “blind boxes.” A “blind box” is a sealed item that contains a collectible pendant or figurine that can be stylized as a fashion accessory. StoreFront has Labubus. Labubus is sold exclusively by China-based store Pop Mart. The store also sells clothing and other items for collectors to style lovebu pendants.
Last year, K-Pop superstar Lisa posted a video on Instagram of her hugging a big Labubu gorgeous doll. The dolls feature accessories such as handbags and pendants.
A single character from Labubu sells for $28 and sells out immediately when it becomes available online. However, due to its popularity, Labubus can sell prices twice or triple on the second-hand market. NBC reports that the life-size Lovebu was sold for $170,000 at Beijing auction in June.
