Earlier that day, Pelosi toured the San Francisco VA Medical Center to agree to health system upgrades, research initiatives and press releases from her staff to identify the threat of House Republicans cutting the services of core veterans.
While talking to the reporter, she was asked how she responded to California’s suspension of gender-affirming care.
“It’s something I work at a national level and I hope we can provide gender-affirming care for trans kids,” Pelosi said. “That’s sad for us… I don’t know how we can impact what we do in the White House and Congress all over the country.”

Earlier this month, more than 12 officials from a Democratic-led state filed a lawsuit to prevent people under the age of 19 from blocking access to sex exchange procedures and treatment.
The complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts alleges that the Trump administration wants to impose a nationwide ban on gender reconciliation proceedings by threatening providers in an investigation “bassad criminal charges.”
President Donald Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondy and the Justice Department have been appointed as defendants in the lawsuit. It challenges Trump’s January 28th executive order, government support for gender change and treatment, and two notes by Bondi and Attorney General Brett Schmate.
Pelosi’s office told Fox News Digital that it referred to the lawsuit when Democrats spoke about supporting child sexual changes.

In July, Kaiser Permane announced that he would suspend sex exchange surgeries for patients under the age of 19 starting August 29, in response to the Trump administration’s efforts on the issue. In the same month, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles closed its Trans Youth Health and Development Center, one of the nation’s largest clinics for transgender youth.
