President Donald Trump has directed federal law enforcement this week to increase his presence across Washington, D.C., including a surge in violent crimes, including a case of a former Doge worker called the “big ball” being brutally beaten on the streets this week.
Trump signed an executive order in March establishing that he would “make DC’s safe and beautiful task force.” Currently, the administration is taking a government-wide approach by deploying additional law enforcement agencies to increase the presence of the country’s capital and improving overall public safety, according to sources familiar with the plan.
The operation, which uses both local and federal law enforcement agencies, including the Homeland Security Investigation, the FBI, DEA and others, begins midnight Thursday and will last seven days with an option to extend “if necessary.”
Law enforcement will focus on improving safety in busy tourist destinations and other known hotspots.

In a statement to Fox News, White House spokesman Caroline Leavitt announced that starting Thursday night, “There will be no safe port for violent criminals in DC.”
“Washington, DC is a great city, but it has been plagued by violent crime for too long,” Leavitt said. “President Trump has directed an increase in the presence of federal law enforcement to protect innocent citizens. There is no safe port in DC tonight for violent criminals.”
She added, “President Trump is committed to making our country’s capital safer for residents, lawmakers and visitors around the world.”
A well-versed source noted that “out-of-control violent crimes plaguing DC” was a “continued priority” for the president, and that he is submitting his campaign promise to restore the capital.

Among the priorities laid out in Trump’s executive order, he directed the task force to deploy the presence of more robust federal law enforcement and coordinate with local law enforcement agencies in the area of Columbia. This includes National Mall and Memorial Parks, Museums, Monuments, Lafayette Park, Union Station, Rock Creek Park, Anacostia Park, Anacostia Park, George Washington Memorial Park, Baltan Parkway, Suit Washington Parkway,
The order also directs the task force to revise federal prosecutors’ policies regarding the pretrial detention of criminal defendants, where appropriate, to ensure that individuals pose a threat to public safety are bound to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Additionally, the order directs the task force to direct maximum enforcement of federal immigration laws, redirects federal, state, or local law enforcement resources to arrest and deport illegals across the region.

Sources said additional law enforcement agencies will focus on protecting D.C. residents and visitors from the city from the “scourge of violent crime.”
