Dean Kane, the superman actor for the “Lois and Clark” TV show, says he’s on Ice – NBC Los Angeles

Dean Cain, the actor best known for playing Man of Steel in the 1990s television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, said he plans to become an immigration and customs enforcement officer.

The actor’s move comes as the Trump administration is implementing an aggressive mass expulsion program across the country.

Cain, 59, announced the news on Wednesday in a video on his Instagram account. “I came in because I felt it was important to join with my first responders and not just talk about it, but to help ensure the safety of all Americans,” Cain said.

He went on to pleaded other people in the United States to join ICE as an officer, and promoted work pay and benefits. Appearing on Fox News’ Jesse Waters Primetime later Wednesday, Cain said:

“This country was built because patriots stepped up and did the right thing, whether popular or not, and I really believe this is the right thing,” Cain told Fox News.

Cain is one of President Donald Trump’s most vocal supporters in Hollywood. He publicly supported Trump in the 2016, 2020 and 2024 presidential elections. In an interview with Variety last month, Cain said: “I love President Trump. I’ve been friends with him forever… Trump is actually one of the most sympathetic, wonderful, generous people you’ll meet.”

ICE has recently strengthened its recruitment efforts. The agency is promoting recruits incentives, including the possibility of a $50,000 signature bonus and the possibility of up to $60,000 in student loan repayments. The Department of Homeland Security has also removed the age limit for new hires.

The Trump administration is trying to establish a radical immigration enforcement agenda. Ice responded to pressure from the White House to dramatically increase arrests, detaining more than 2,200 people in custody in the June 1st. This is the most immigrant arrest in the agency’s history.

Ice agents are under intense scrutiny for arresting people with no known criminal history, wearing face coverings and using controversial tactics, such as detaining people at immigration court hearings.

ICE resources have increased significantly following the passage of one big beautiful bill, Trump’s Signature Domestic Act. “This will help ICE achieve deportation of as many as 1 million people a year,” Homeland Security said in a news release.

Cain has over 200 acting credits in the Internet Film Database. He has appeared in various faith-based films, including the 2014 Christian drama “God’s Not Dead.”
