The little Carson boy had a scary encounter with Mother Nature this week when he was attacked by a coyote at a softball game.
Enok Palomar, 6, was in Del Amo Park to watch his sister play in a softball tournament on Monday when the Coyotes attacked him.
“It just kept biting me and I was about to kick it,” Enoch told news outlet KTLA-TV. “It was too fast and I jumped. I was trying so hard, but it didn’t work, so I cried out.”
The attack unfolded in the background of a video being filmed by the parents of a softball game. The video of the incident shows Enoch in the distance near the playground, screaming in panic, as the coyote struggles to bite him with wounds.
His mother, Melissa Palomar, ran to her son, scared the Coyotes, she told the news station.
“I was like, ‘Wake up, wake up!'” she said. “I was just hysterical.”
After the attack, the coyotes were driven away and Enoch was shaken quite a bit.
KTLA reported that the doctor stuck his leg with 20 stitches. The coyote also bit his head, neck, and injured other parts of the boy’s body.
Palomar’s mother reported the attack to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the boy’s clothing was collected as part of the investigation.
According to fish and wildlife, coyotes are common fixtures in many Southern California neighborhoods, but dogs usually slip purely and avoid interacting with humans. However, they are opportunists when it comes to food, and are conditioned to rely on the garbage left behind by humans, especially in areas adjacent to their habitat and nests.
