The teenager was hospitalized after being attacked by multiple dogs in San Bernardino County.
On July 17, Sheriff Barstow’s deputies were notified of the attack. This happened in the 30,000 block of Newbury Road, Newbury Springs, before 10am.
The victim, a 17-year-old girl, was jogging when a pack of 10 big dogs suddenly gathered at her, her parents said.
The dog bit her on her arms and legs several times, removing any major tears, abrasions and flesh. A good Samaritan was able to discover the attack and save the dog from the dog.
After investigation, detectives discovered that the dog belonged to a Newberry Springs resident, and the dog was not fenced or lanked at the time.
Authorities say the teen was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center due to the severity of his injuries.
Animal control workers in San Bernardino seized 16 dogs from the area in connection with the attack. The criminal investigation will be conducted by the Sheriff’s Office.
