President Donald Trump secretly approved military force against Latin American drug cartels, which the US designated as a foreign terrorist organization.

The move, reported by The New York Times, would grant the US permission to engage in cartels of transport drugs like fentanyl across the US-Mexico border.

“The president is determined not only to dismantle, but to destroy it completely – [Venezuelan dictator Nicolas] According to the New York Post, sources close to the White House say Maduro’s Cartel de los Sales is erasing its operations in the Western Hemisphere.”

Anti-cartel efforts are being coordinated among several sectors, including the Department of Defense, the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of National Intelligence, the Department of Treasury and the Department of Treasury, the source added.

“President Trump’s number one priority is to protect his hometown. That’s why he took a bold step to designate several cartels and gangs as foreign terrorist organizations,” White House assistant reporter Anna Kelly said in a statement in Fox News Digital.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Friday that US troops will not enter Mexican territory following reports that Washington could take action to fight the cartel.

“It has nothing to do with Mexico’s territory,” she said. “It has to do with their country. It does not include our territory.”

Trump has previously debated the use of military force against drug cartels to stop the flow of drugs and illegal immigration across tropical borders. He also sanctions a high-ranking member of Cartel del Noathe, one of Mexico’s most violent drug lords and a US-designated foreign terrorist organization.

More recently, he used tariff threats to force Mexico and Canada to actively participate in crowding efforts.

In connection with the Latin American cartel, the administration on Thursday picked Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, the US-wanted President, and Attorney General Pam Bondy announced a $50 million reward for information that led to an arrest.

“Maduro will use foreign terrorist organizations such as TDA (Tren de Aragua), Sinaloa and Cartel of the Suns (Cartel de Soles) to bring deadly violence to our country,” Bondi said in a video message. “He is one of the world’s largest narcotic traffic and a threat to our national security.”

A few weeks after taking office, the White House announced the extradition of 29 members of various Mexican drug cartels.

“The previous administration allowed these criminals to operate freely around the world and commit crimes. The Trump administration has declared these thugs as terrorists.
