Ukrainian President Voldimia Zelenkie on Sunday repeatedly said that Kiev would not abandon its territory in Moscow, opposed the installation of international speculation regarding negotiations for potential land.
“The Ukrainian Constitution makes it impossible to abandon territory and trading sites,” Zelensky said at a press conference at the European Commission on Sunday.

He added that Russia has repeatedly tried to seize the entire Donbas region in eastern Ukraine for 12 years. Donbas, which includes Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, is an industrial hub with coal mines and steel production at the heart of the Ukrainian economy.

“The territorial issue is so important that it should only be discussed between the trilateral countries by Ukraine and Russian leaders. [talks with] Ukraine, the US, Russia,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian leader spoke with EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen, who said so far the Kremlin “has not given any indication that a trilateral situation will occur.”

“When it comes to Ukraine’s territorial issues, our position is clear. International borders cannot be forced to change. These are decisions decided by Ukraine and Ukraine, and these decisions cannot be taken without Ukraine on the table,” von der Leyen said.

After a meeting with Russian leaders, Trump signaled that “Russia is a huge force” and that Ukraine is not, so Zelensky should make a Vladimir Putin deal to end the war. Still, the secretary of Marco Rubio’s province dismissed claims that Trump would pressure Zelensky to abandon Russia a massive strip of sovereign land.
“The president said from a territorial perspective, these are things that Zelensky has to decide,” Rubio told Maria Bartilomo on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures.
“What the president is trying to do here is narrowing down the open issues,” Rubio said. Trump added that he is focusing on ending the Kremlin war in Ukraine.

“Unless both parties agree to give up something, they cannot enter into a peace agreement between two fighting factions. And both sides agree that the other side will get something. Otherwise, if one side has everything they want, it is not a peace agreement. It is called surrender. And I don’t think this is a war that will end soon.
Zelenskyy said he hopes upcoming meetings with European allies and Trump will be “productive”, in contrast to the oval office exchange that was heated during his visit in February.
