What do you know

A shooting occurred at a crowded Brooklyn nightclub around 3:30am on Sunday. Three people were killed and nine more injured and were taken to a hospital in the borough. Victims range from 19 to 61 years old. The youngest man, a 19-year-old man, two men, ages 27 and 35, were injured. 42 shell casings were recovered at the scene and guns were recovered nearby, but officials were still unable to say whether it was related to the incident. The shooting appears to be linked to the gang, saying “some of the victims were involved in the shooting.” Police officials said New York City is emphasizing that it is 60% of gun violence, which is 60% of gun violence, which is gang gun violence.

Three people were killed and nine more injured after being shot overnight at a busy Brooklyn club, police officers and mayor said Sunday morning.

NYPD commissioner Jessica Tish confirmed early Sunday morning.

The victims ranged between the ages of 19 and 61, the commissioner said. The youngest, 19-year-old man, died at the scene. Two other men, ages 27 and 35, were declared dead at a hospital near Brooklyn.

Initially, the commissioner reported a total of 11 people had been shot and killed during the overnight violence. At a press conference just before 12pm between Top NYPD Brass and the mayor, Eric Adams confirmed that the 12th person had been attacked.

Adams said the crisis management team was mobilized to provide trauma services, promote mediation efforts with the victims’ friends and family, and to stop retaliation. He asked the public who may have information about the shooting to assist investigators by calling the NYPD Crime Stoppers line, 800-577-TIPS.

“We need your help. If you were inside the club, if you heard someone talking about this shooting, if you witness someone fleeing the place, all the information will allow us to put together a puzzle to help solve this crime,” Mayor Adams said.

The shooting began after a conflict at a busy club, the commissioner said. She said officers recovered at least 42 shell casings from the lounge on Sunday morning, as well as a firearm found on a nearby street. So far, police investigators have not been able to link the gun directly to nightclub shootings.

“What we know beforehand is that there was a conflict that led to the shooting within a crowded club. We believe that up to four shooters were involved in the incident,” Tish said.

No one was in custody at the time of the 12pm press conference, but the commissioner said the shooting looked like it was gang-related. 60% of shootings across the city have returned to the gang, she added.

Taste of the City Lounge said in an Instagram story that the family of the injured and deceased were “devastated” by the shooting, and the family of the wounded and deceased continue to pray.

Tish also said some of the victims of the overnight violence were involved in the shooting.

“The safety and happiness of our guests and our community have always been our number one priority,” the lounge said. “We are working closely with law enforcement and will continue to work fully together as the investigation progresses.”

Tish said violence broke out even in the first seven months of 2025, even if the city reported the lowest number of shootings and shootings on record.

“Of course, I would like to thank God for this kind of thing. It’s extraordinary and what happened this morning is terrible, but we’re going to investigate and get to the bottom of what’s gone down,” she said.

The crime was the second mass shooting in New York City within a few weeks of a year that saw the decline in gun violence. On July 29, a man ran through a Manhattan office tower with a rifle, injured one person and killed four others. Police officers in New York City were among those who died.

Mayor Eric Adams said both recent shootings only strengthen “why do this job of chasing guns from the streets.”

“This will be the second in a few weeks and we don’t want this to turn into a normal course of doing business of violence in our city,” he said.
